EXPIRED – Tel’s Belles Christmas Cracker Spectacular run Sunday 15/12/13

Hi All,

Handy Cross Runners and friends will be meeting at the Spade Oak public car park, Coldmoorholme Lane, Bourne End SL8 5PS ( = nearest postcode, OS Map 175 Ref: 884 875), at 10 a.m. on Sunday for our annual Christmas river run organised by Tel and his Belles and afterwards for refreshments in the Spade Oak pub. There will be a run of 5 miles and one of 8/9 and possibly a walk. Our newer runners can be reassured that it will be a very easy and sociable run with Fred in attendance to look after you and make sure that nobody gets left behind. Our recently graduated Wednesday Group runners will be especially welcomed. The hard-core Sunday regulars will be meeting at 8.30 for an additional run before joining the main event.

Please wear something Christmassy and come along prepared for a good time!

Enjoy!

Kind regards,
Mike

EXPIRED – Off road run tonight at 7pm

Hi all,

Beverley Nothman and Michael Clare are planning an off road run this
evening if you’d like to join them. They will be heading out from the club
at 7pm and will be going on a 6 to 7 mile gentle jaunt taking in Wycombe
Air Park, the woods around the shooting ground and Dashwood’s estate, then
back to the club.

The going will be soft (and a little bit muddy!)
so good off road shoes are essential plus a decent head
torch.

Please email Michael  “The Mud Plugger” Clare” on
michael_clare1@yahoo.co.uk if you are allowed to come out and
play.

Look forward to the rush.

Kind regards,

Mike

EXPIRED – Arrangements for our Cross Country this weekend.

Hi All,

It’s our turn to
host the Thames Valley Cross Country League race this Sunday and we will need
your help to make sure that everything goes smoothly and make it a great
success. We are expecting around 400 runners to take part so
It will
really be appreciated if each of you could bring a contribution of food to help
feed all the hungry runners after the race.
Saturday afternoon. Mark out
course.
We will be meeting at
1:30pm on Saturday in the car park of RAF Walters Ash, High Wycombe to go and
mark out the course in preparation for Sunday. If we have plenty of help this
won’t take long and we should get finished before it gets dark. Please bring a
Staple Gun if you have one. I have attached a map and directions
Saturday evening. Sandwich
making.
At 5:00pm on Saturday,
Sandwich Making will take place at Peter and Debbie’s house, Lapwing Cottage,
Broombarn Lane, Great Missenden HP16 9JD. Again we need plenty of help to do
this as we are expecting 400 plus runners to take part in Sunday’s race. Many
hands will make light work of this and who knows Peter might lay on some beer
and wine for you. Parking is a bit limited at their house so be cheeky and park
at the pub on the corner at the Prestwood end of Broombarn Lane and walk down if
you can manage it.
Sunday morning. Set up for race and
help with food or marshalling.
We shall be meeting at
8:00am on Sunday down at the Finish area to erect the tent and get everything
set up. Again we will need lots of help to do this. We will also need several
marshals around the course to make sure that everyone goes the right way. If we
have enough marshals, any of you that want to take part in the race are most
welcome to do so. The race starts at 11:00am.
Sunday afternoon. Clear course and
pack everything away.
After the race everything
will need packing away and taking back to our store  at Kingsmead, so
please don’t disappear straight afterwards.
With a bit of luck we
will be able to get to the Red Lion at Bradenham for a quick pint and a bit of
banter with the Sandhurst crowd before they leave.
Many thanks in
anticipation of your help.
Kind regards,

Mike

EXPIRED – London Run 30/11/13

I’ve only had a couple of people express an interest in doing the run through London and alongside the River Thames next Sunday. I was intending to go up and do a walk myself but I’ve had to change my plans due to another commitment. I’m quite happy to plan a route though if enough of you want to do it. Please let me know. Mike

EXPIRED – Chiltern League XC 10/11/13

This weekend we have a double opportunity for you to enjoy a bit of a mudlark. On Saturday we have the 2nd of our Chiltern League matches at Horspath, Oxford. The ladies race is at 1:15pm and the men’s is at 2:00pm. See http://www.chilternccl.co.uk/oxford.htm for details.

On Sunday we have the 1st of the Thames Valley Cross Country League matches hosted by Datchet Dashers. See below for details.

Both events are free to enter for our members, so please do your best to represent your club team at either or both events. I’ll be at both venues with my camera to try and capture the sheer pleasure of my fellow clubmates enjoying a dirty weekend, so come along and get as mucky as you like.
