EXPIRED – Hambleden pub run 29/5/14

Hi All

The second of the pub runs is from The Stage and Huntsman at Hambleden, RG9 6RP on Thursday, 29th May, starting at 7.00pm, and is being organised by Mike Hollis.

Running and walking
There will be two runs of about 7 and 9 miles and a walk of about 4.5miles.

The longer run will be lead by Mike Hollis, it’s not clear yet who will be leading the shorter run (Mike intends doing a recce next Thursday, 22nd May, so if anybody would like to volunteer get in touch with him mikehollis@sgbusby.co.uk or mikejhollis@yahoo.co.uk ), Nick Martin will sweep the shorter run and the walk will be lead by Martin Dean. Maps of the routes will be available on the night for those who would prefer to go out on their own.

For those who have not taken part before and new members, the runs are 90% cross country and you should be able to run the distances in about an hour and thirty minutes, but maximum an hour and forty five minutes.

Food
For those who wish to eat afterwards, Mike has arranged a short menu with the pub, which is exclusive to us at £10.00 per head.

The options are 1. Burger with cheese and bacon, chips and salad – 2. Sausage and mash with onion gravy – 3. Fish and chips

Can you please let me know if you intend to eat afterwards, together with your choice from the menu. trevorfree@madasafish.com This is only for me to gauge likely numbers and to give the pub an indication of how much food to order and prepare and does not commit you in any way.

Parking
There is a large car park at the rear of the pub and if this should fill then there is plenty of road parking in the village.

Thanks

Trevor

EXPIRED – Bradenham pub run 8/5/14

Hi All,

The first of the pub runs is from Bradenham Manor next Thursday, 8th May, starting at 6.45pm, and is being organised by myself and Des Mannion.

Running and walking

There will be two runs of about 7 and 9 miles and a walk of about 4.5miles. All routes will be different from those we did three years ago from Bradenham Manor and also last year from The Red Lion.

The longer run will be lead by Penny Cutler, the shorter run will be lead by Des and swept by Nick Martin and the walk will be lead by me. Maps of the routes will be available on the night for those who would prefer to go out on their own.

For those who have not taken part before, the runs are 90% cross country and you should be able to run the distances in about an hour and thirty minutes, but maximum an hour and forty five minutes. This is most important for this first run, unless you like running in the dark.

Food and drink

The venue has a subsidised bar and the food will be served in the dining room, as it was the previous year.

The cost will be £10.00 per head, which will be payable on the night and will include a selection of spare ribs, chicken drum sticks, wendover sausages, jacket potatoes, a variety of salads, various trimmings and a selection of puddings and there should be enough for those who would like a second helping!

Can you please let me know if you intend to eat afterwards. trevorfree@madasafish.com This is only for me to gauge likely numbers and to give the venue an indication of how much food to order and prepare and does not commit you in any way.

Parking

There is a large car park at the rear of the Manor, postcode HP14 4HF, and is accessed from Bradenham Wood Lane. I am not sure if this postcode will take you directly to the car park, but together with the brief instructions below, most should make it.

If you come from West Wycombe on the A4010, turn right at The Red Lion into Bradenham Wood Lane. Then going slightly up hill, go past the green and cricket pitch on your right. On reaching the wall by the church travel along this wall for about 100m, then turn right through the wall (with a house on your left) onto a long drive with a field on your left. At the end of the drive, with some buildings on your left, turn left past these buildings and up into the car park.

Sponsorship

Part of the proceeds from the evening, once the Manor have taken their expenses, will be going towards Sally White’s sponsorship of her John O’Groats to Lands End cycle ride in aid of The Wooden Spoon charity for under privileged children in the UK. She will be starting this on Saturday, August 16th and it will take her seven and a half days, averaging between 110 and 120 miles per day. The cost for the food will also include entry into a raffle which Sally will be holding towards the end of the evening.

Thanks

Trevor
