SEAA Inter-County Match at Shuttleworth on Saturday 14th December 2013

Apologies chaps for sending this to all members but I do not have separate male/female email lists.

Hi Ladies,

Kind regards,

Green Belt Relay 2014

Hi All,

This is something that we have never taken part in before but looks as if it could be great fun, although the logistics of getting our runners out to the other side of London might be testing. If 11 of you are interested, I could be persuaded to help out with transport providing my petrol costs are shared.

Please let me know.

Kind regards,

Mike

The Stragglers Running Club would like to invite you to take part in next year’s Green Belt Relay on 17/18 May 2014.

This is a great event, and this will be its 18th year. There are plenty of good reasons to enter, but to highlight a few:

  • The relay weaves its way around some lovely countryside (with a surprising number of pubs on the way!).
  • Its format, with set times for stage starts, makes each stage a race in its own right and means that slower runners won’t get left far behind.
  • There are no restrictions on team make-up (aside from the fact that you need 11 runners and each needs to run on both days) so it’s not only for club-affiliated runners (ringers are welcome!).
  • Distances for each stage vary from 5.6 – 13.5 miles, and stages vary in difficulty, so there should be something for runners at all levels of experience and ability.
  • It’s really good fun!

Full details can be found on the facebook page and website (www.greenbeltrelay.org.uk).

Entry fees are discounted if you apply before December 31st 2013.

There is only space for 42 teams, and places are filling up – so don’t miss out!

EXPIRED – Chiltern League XC 10/11/13

This weekend we have a double opportunity for you to enjoy a bit of a mudlark. On Saturday we have the 2nd of our Chiltern League matches at Horspath, Oxford. The ladies race is at 1:15pm and the men’s is at 2:00pm. See http://www.chilternccl.co.uk/oxford.htm for details.

On Sunday we have the 1st of the Thames Valley Cross Country League matches hosted by Datchet Dashers. See below for details.

Both events are free to enter for our members, so please do your best to represent your club team at either or both events. I’ll be at both venues with my camera to try and capture the sheer pleasure of my fellow clubmates enjoying a dirty weekend, so come along and get as mucky as you like.
